Meet Katie Checketts, the 90-Day Challenge Winner

Katie Checketts is a Jade who joined Kyäni last June. She’s no stranger to the concept of making choices for Healthy Living. She loves to be physically active but felt she had stalled in her progress in recent years. Five years ago she lost 55 pounds, but over time she gained most of it back and didn’t feel good about herself. She was also diagnosed with health issues that made weight loss an even more serious challenge. But she committed to getting more exercise and making simple dietary changes. First, she wanted to start drinking more water than Diet Coke. She was also excited to use Kyäni’s protein nutritionals as a healthy part of her diet. In her entry for the challenge she said, “What’s my goal? Well, it’s the same as everyone else’s. To feel good in my own skin. I will continue fighting my hardest to get rid of those pounds plus some!” With that positive attitude, she began her journey.

Katie worked every day to be as active as possible, using her home gym equipment and spending time being active outdoors whenever she could. She took her sons to the park in nice weather, and as they played she did exercises. She began to drink 2.36 to 2.9 litres of water each day, and she realised she was succeeding this part of her goal when her boys remarked that she always had a water bottle with her.

One of the most helpful ways to stay on track was using Kyäni HL5 and FIT20. Every morning Katie used FIT20 to make a delicious shake, combining it with cocoa powder and avocado for a creamy texture, or with peanut butter for even more protein power. She also found that HL5 was perfect for curbing those afternoon cravings.

“Wow! These 90 days were absolutely amazing! Not only did I smash my goals but I also learned some important lessons on the way! I ended up losing 10.4 kg, 52.70 cm from all over my body with 19.05 of those cm coming from my waist and I was able to drop my body fat percentage by 10%! I can’t believe how much more stamina I have now when I’m exercising!

“One compliment I have received from several people is that I’m an inspiration! I know if I can do this anyone can do this! I’m inspiring my family, friends, and followers to make healthier choices and that feels best of all! I hope to continue motivating and inspiring all those I come in contact with! That’s what I call living the dream!”

Katie is committed to continuing the healthy habits she has developed during the challenge. She balances strength training with aerobic workouts and eats her meals on a salad plate to help her with portion control. She even has her dog lick the plate clean to keep her from going back for seconds!. Katie also gets plenty of protein with HL5 and FIT20 to help her build lean muscle and keep her metabolism higher.
