February is the Heart Month

Did you know that February is Heart Month? Heart Month is there to raise awareness about threats to heart health and how people can prevent them.

As health is what we care about the most at Kyäni, we gathered four key lifestyle steps to increase your chances of maintaining a healthy heart by reducing risk factors and have a surprise for you during February.

1. Do not smoke

Smoking does not provide health benefits of any kind. In fact, every single cigarette slows you down, makes you sick, and shortens your life. One way it does this is by contributing to heart issues. The nicotine contained in cigarettes and other tobacco products is one of the most addictive substances on the planet. But studies show, that much of the excess risk due to smoking can be drastically lowered after quitting.

2. Maintain a healthy weight

Overweight contributes to heart issues. Studies have shown that the higher your Body-Mass-Index (BMI), the higher the risk for coronary heart issues. The BMI is obtained by dividing your weight in kilograms by your height in meters squared (kg/m²). A healthy BMI is under 25 kg/m². Overweight is defined as a BMI of 25 to 29.9 kg/m², and obesity is defined as a BMI of 30 kg/m².

3. Exercise

Physical activity is a great way to maintain a healthy heart. Regular exercise is one of the best things you can do for your health. It helps you to control stress, improve sleep, boost mood, keep eight in check and contribute to your cognitive function as well. The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends walking 10,000 steps a day to stay healthy. And walking can actually replace sports to a certain extent. For example, 7,500 steps equals one hour of slow bicycling.

How good we offer a Kyäni branded pedometer that helps you to keep track of the number of steps you make over the day with every Kyäni Xtreme Triangle of Wellness with a Fleuresse GO Kit 3 until February 28.

4. Follow a healthy diet

Eating a balanced and varied diet with the right amount of  protein, carbohydrates, fats and lipids, a range of vitamins, and that host of minerals and trace elements also contributes to heart health. Like Kyäni Sunrise and Kyäni Nitro Xtreme, which both contain Vitamin B1, that contributes to the normal function of the heart. Or Kyäni Sunset, which contains Omega 3 fatty acids which also contribute to the normal function of the heart*.
